Antibiotic and other pharmacologically active substances

The amount of antibiotic mentioned in column (2), on the sea foods including shrimps, prawns or any other variety of fish and fishery products, shall not exceed the tolerance limit prescribed in column (3) of the table given below:

The use of any of the following antibiotics and other Pharmacologically Active Substances shall be prohibited in any unit processing sea foods including shrimps, prawns or any other variety of fish and fishery products —

  1. All Nitrofurans including
  2. Furaltadone
  3. Furazolidone
  4. Furylfuramide
  5. Nifuratel
  6. Nifuroxime
  7. Nifurprazine
  8. Nitrofurnatoin
  9. Nitrofurazone
  10. Chloramphenicol
  11. Neomycin
  12. Nalidixic acid
  13. Sulphamethoxazole
  14. Aristolochia spp and preparations thereof
  15. Chloroform
  16. Chloropromazine
  17. Cholchicine
  18. Dapsone
  19. Dimetridazole
  20. Metronidazole
  21. Ronidazole
  22. Ipronidazole
  23. Other nitromidazoles
  24. Clenbuterol
  25. Diethylstibestrol (DES)
  26. Sulfanoamide drugs (except approved Sulfadimethoxine, Sulfabromomethazine and Sulfaethoxypyridazine)
  27. Fluoroquinolones
  28. Glycopeptides.
